Knightsbridge is an exclusive shopping and residential area in central London, which straddles the Boroughs of Westminster and Kensington and Chelsea.

In Edward the First’s time, the area belonged to Westminster Abbey and was named after a river crossing, mentioned when Matilda of England met the citizens of London at the Knight’s Bridge in the 12th Century.
